Sophie and Hannah Pycroft have been described as making ‘the world’s most Instagram-able make-up brushes’ after their products became a hit on the online photo sharing app.
The Barry-based sisters behind Spectrum Collections sell their multi-coloured brushes and brush sets all over the world. +2
And the business, that started in their garage, is now worth around £8m and is about to appear on Britain’s Next Top Model.
Sophie said: ‘People love us because we’re different. People love unicorns and mermaids as a way of saying they’re not like everyone else.’
The brand has a cult following (more than 203,000 followers on Instagram), with fans uploading photos of their colourful buys online so rapidly they have no need for a big marketing budget.
Among the beauty bloggers to heap praise on them is Lottie Tomlinson – sister of One Direction’s Louis – who has 3.2 million followers.
