Two sisters who started a makeup brush brand in their garage are taking social media by storm – and now have a business worth around £8m.

Sophie and Hannah Pycroft have been described as making ‘the world’s most Instagram-able make-up brushes’ after their products became a hit on the online photo sharing app.

And the business, that started in their garage, is now worth around £8m and is about to appear on Britain’s Next Top Model. 

Sophie said: ‘People love us because we’re different. People love unicorns and mermaids as a way of saying they’re not like everyone else.’ 

The brand has a cult following (more than 203,000 followers on Instagram), with fans uploading photos of their colourful buys online so rapidly they have no need for a big marketing budget. 

Among the beauty bloggers to heap praise on them is Lottie Tomlinson – sister of One Direction’s Louis – who has 3.2 million followers.
